The team caring for Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, a vibrant church located in Blaydon-on-Tyne, had desperately needed a new heating system for a considerable length of time.

Unfortunately – as is often the case – the Church had been let down a number of times by previous tradespeople, thus exacerbating the already-complex process of acquiring funding for the new system. Although Cornerstone Christian Fellowship was equipped with a provisional funding offer, attempts to find a reliable company to carry out the installation process were frustrated time and time again, before being further complicated by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We recently spoke with Chris about his experience of working with Whickham Plumbing and Heating Services, and we’re thrilled to be able to share a little more about it in Chris’ own words below.

How was your initial experience with us when you got in touch?

After explaining our situation and the urgency of it over the phone, I was able to get Whickham Plumbing and Heating Services out very quickly, within the space of just a week.

Both Dave and Paul took great time and care to fully understand the requirements of the heating project, as well as the position we were in as a charity and where funding was linked with quotes. The communication was quick, with everything explained in detail. It genuinely felt like Whickham Plumbing and Heating were working with us, instead of viewing us as just another job.

How was your experience with our tradesperson?

Our main contact from start to finish was Paul, who headed up the entire project.

I could not speak highly enough of him. Not only did he design the best possible solution for our system, but looked at ways to work within our budget without compromising on quality. He walked us through all of the options, explained the process and generally went above and beyond what I could have hoped for.

Before the work was scheduled to begin our old system completely broke down, leaving us with no heating at all and unable to use the building. Paul stepped in and kindly put us in touch with someone who could get this working temporarily whilst we were waiting for the new heating project to start.

Though Paul was our main contact it would be remiss of me not to mention the installer and apprentice on site, Lee and Aaron, who were both excellent, friendly and helpful. The work ethic and quality was nothing short of exceptional.

Were you happy with the outcome of the work?

Myself and the rest of the team here at Cornerstone are very happy with the work completed. Many people who have been in our building since the completion of the project – both tradespersons and laypersons – have commented on the quality of the system.

I simply cannot say anything remotely negative about the experience and I feel exceptionally thankful for the help we have received. We have been let down by others so much over the years, which is why I want to give thanks to everyone at Whickham Plumbing and Heating who has been involved in this project.
